Packing for College Moving to college is an exciting time for every inexperienced young person looking to leave the family fold. Due to this, would-be college students often go overboard when they’re deciding what to bring with them. Keep in mind however, just because a carrier is offering a ridiculously low cost estimate, that doesn’t make them the best choice. Referrals, reviews, and investigation are still needed for the final verdict. Beyond the Dollar Sign When searching for a moving company, a low estimate shouldn’t be a prospective customer’s first priority. It’s about finding an affordable moving company with a solid reputation for dependability and prompt delivery. It’s not uncommon to come across moving scams when you’re looking for a carrier to transport your goods, and unfortunately, many people often focus on the dollar sign above anything else. An affordable price is often an indication of a reliable carrier, but you should always take the extra effort to investigate any moving company thoroughly before that final decision. Preparing Pots and Pans for Moving Although pots and pans vary in size, you can usually nest about three of each together in a single carton. Make sure you have large enough pieces of packing paper to cover the entire interior of your largest pan and leave some cushioning on the bottom of the crate. The first pot or pan you place inside the box should be the smallest in size. The pan or pot should be upside down with several sheets of packing paper on top of it before you stack the next one. Once you've stacked three, fill the spaces with packing material to prevent shifting.
