Pack One By One Start packing one room at a time to help organize and prioritize all of your belongings instead of working on multiple rooms at the same time. Properly Packing Boxes Keep in mind that your movers will more than likely inspect your boxes for safety reasons. On moving day, be sure to single out which boxes require careful handling as you go through your inventory. Movers will also point out any boxes they think aren’t properly packed. Some moving supply companies offer used boxes for lower prices as well. Packing Your Lamp Shadees Your lamp shades should be packed in a separate box from your lamps. Avoid using newspaper as stuffing material as the ink may cause stains on your shades. Use clean packing paper or bubble wrap to protect your lamp shades' linings. Try stacking your lamp shades into a single, large carton with packing material between each.
