Used Barstow Transfer to get two professional furniture packers to load a furniture container at an hourly rate and had to purchase approx 170 dollars of packing materials and had myself ample shipping blankets (over 40) a roll of clear wrap.\r\n\r\nOn day one the two arrived took a look around said it would be diffiucult and gave another shopping list for more packing materials and said they would be back the next day a Saturday.\r\n\r\nOn Saturday, only one arrived and announced that they will not pack the container since we had not purchased all the packing materials that he wanted. His boss on Friday indicated that they would pack the container just tell what has to go. Today his boss stated what he told us is not what he told his boss and that he was a professional and could walk away if he wanted to. When asked why the packer simply did not say he was not going to do it on Friday and then insisted on more packing materials his boss had no answer.\r\n\r\nDue to the packers walking off the scheduled job site on a Saturady it was impossible to get another team before Monday with a scheduled flight to the East Coast occuring on Monday which if the container had been packed on Friday would not have been a problem.\r\n\r\nGot another team from OC on Sunday who packed it as the container company stated it should be with all furniture that we wanted shipped-and they only used a fraction of the packing materials the first team said was needed.the second team questioned the professionalism of the first packers as they stated yes it was tight but that is what they get paid to do and they questioned the excessive need for packing\r\nmaterials---called the first packing team simple scammers.\r\n\r\nBy not having the container loaded on Frdiay cost me an additional airline ticket of 600 and an over 170 for materials of which only a third was used.\r\n\r\nThe company claims that they have a high focus on customer satisfaction, but after this incident 1) that is not the case and 2) nothing but poor service as reflected in no attempt to reach a good conclusion other than the customer is wrong my packers have years of experience.\r\n\r\nWould never recommend using this company nor National if their packers cannot even pack a 8X8X16 container. If they are going to farm out their packers then they need to check their abilities ---professionals they were not.\r\n\r\n\r\n
