Taking Inventory Taking inventory is a great way of organizing and managing all of the different tasks you have to keep track of, and if you format it in a checklist style, you can easily separate the things you have yet to do and what you’ve already completed. Also, make note of the conditions of your belongings so that you have something to refer to once your belongings have been transported to your new home. Loading the Trailer If you’re loading your boxes into a truck, be sure to get the heavier items inside first and the lighter items towards the back of the truck. This will prevent your truck from being unbalanced. Also, load the truck a quarter at a time and fit everything as tightly together as possible. Wiping Up Residue Once you move into your new home, take some time to check inside your cabinets and drawers. The management most likely had pest control take care of any extra roommates after the last tenant left, but you can never be too sure if the pesticides are harmful to people. Get a dishrag and wipe inside your drawers and cabinets. Save Money, Eat In Moving takes a lot of time, especially packing. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't take some time to cook your own food. Eating fast food can be expensive, particularly if you're doing it day after day. This is also the best time for you to eat all of your frozen food given that perishable items can't be transported by movers. Also, canned food is a pain to pack and transport. You should finish them off as well.
