Packing Crystal and Glassware Every piece of crystal and glassware should be individually covered with bubble wrap. If you pack more than one piece of crystal or glassware into a single box, go ahead and use dividers to prevent your items from bumping into each other during transit. You should also cushion the bottom of the box with a layer of materials such as extra bubble wrap or packing peanuts. Padded dish boxes work very well for transporting crystal or glassware. Be sure to mark “Fragile” and “This Side Up” on the box for the movers. Taking Inventory Taking inventory is a great way of organizing and managing all of the different tasks you have to keep track of, and if you format it in a checklist style, you can easily separate the things you have yet to do and what you’ve already completed. Also, make note of the conditions of your belongings so that you have something to refer to once your belongings have been transported to your new home. Packing Your Kitchen Kitchen appliances and utensils can be sharp or blunt, and you should cover your bases when you’re packing these items. One great precautionary measure you can take is by using bubble wrap to protect these items during transit. If you’re saving your bubble wrap for more fragile items, you can use hand towels to wrap them individually. The Price Isn't Always Right Low cost movers do exist as impossible as it may seem. Unfortunately, like all good things, it requires a little time and searching on your part. Keep in mind however, just because a carrier is offering a ridiculously low cost estimate, that doesn’t make them the best choice. Referrals, reviews, and investigation are still needed for the final verdict.
