Packing Crystal and Glassware Every piece of crystal and glassware should be individually covered with bubble wrap. If you pack more than one piece of crystal or glassware into a single box, go ahead and use dividers to prevent your items from bumping into each other during transit. You should also cushion the bottom of the box with a layer of materials such as extra bubble wrap or packing peanuts. Padded dish boxes work very well for transporting crystal or glassware. Be sure to mark “Fragile” and “This Side Up” on the box for the movers. The Little Things Keep tabs on all of the little screws, nuts, and bolts when you’re dismantling your furniture. You can use Ziploc bags to pack them. Be sure to label them properly before putting them away! Moving Your Pool Table The difference between a piano and a pool table is that the latter can be disassembled. Check to see if the path is clear by ridding anything that may be blocking the way. Also, pay attention to the walkway outside and make note if the sidewalk is broken, etc. Packing Heavy Items There are a few things you should keep in mind when you're packing items that weigh more than thirty pounds. Firstly, the box you're using should be of a stronger quality with seams that are either stitched or stapled. To prevent crushing or shifting, invest in corrugated or molded foams to protect your heavier belongings instead of packing paper or peanuts. Heavy cushioning could mean the difference between seeing your items safely home and finding them damaged after you unpack.
