Return Before Take Off If you’ve rented videos at the local video shop, checked out library books, or have clothes at the dry cleaners, make a note to yourself to take care of these items before you leave. Taking Inventory Taking inventory is a great way of organizing and managing all of the different tasks you have to keep track of, and if you format it in a checklist style, you can easily separate the things you have yet to do and what you’ve already completed. Also, make note of the conditions of your belongings so that you have something to refer to once your belongings have been transported to your new home. Moving Labor If you have friends with strong backs or family members who can lend a helping hand, you can save money by asking them to help you out on moving day. That way, you’ll have all of your furniture and belongings ready for loading before the movers arrive, and it’ll expedite the process so you can be one step closer to getting to your new home. Naturally, moving your belongings without hired help comes with its own risks. Movers are professionally trained to handle your belongings with the least amount of risk. Removing the Weights in a Grandfather Clock If you can’t afford to hire a clock specialist to service your grandfather clock, you can carefully remove the weights yourself. You should always don cotton gloves before you change/remove anything inside the clock. Remove the weights piece by piece and note each of their respective positions so you can reinstall them in the correct order. If the weights are suspended by cables, break off an adequately-sized piece of Styrofoam, cut a slit through the middle, and fit the Styrofoam around the pulley. This way, it'll prevent any damage your pulleys may receive during transit. Afterwards, remove the weights.

Adept Moving & Storage My experience with Adept Moving is a disgusting nightmare! Th... 1.0
My experience with Adept Moving is a disgusting nightmare! The person I contact, his name was Anthony. He promised me that he’d send the best people. I moved on 7/23 weekend from Calabasas to Playa Del Rey. 3 movers moved a 3-bed room house, plus there was no traffic on road, they used 13 hours! They also scratched my hardwood floor. After the move, we found they ruined our bookshelves with the tape and 2 boards on our TV stand are missing. I called Anthony, his attitude completely changed from before the move. He denied all my complaints, insisting the movers did a beautiful job, and my complaints are insulting to him. I told him that I had moving experience before, compared with my previous experience, this is how I truly feel He started to use “f” word, call me bitxx, even curse all Chinese. I told him that I'll tell all his behavior on line, he threatened me if I did, I will not get even one penny of claim compensation for my losses and damages. He said more than once that many of the negative reviews are bogus and not from their real customers, he probably tells others the same thing about my review. But now I’m really suspect if those reviews from highly satisfied customers are real.
By the way, for this horrible service, I paid twelve hundred dollars.

This is quoted from Anthony’s email after he sees one of my reviews, “We appreciate if you don’t do anything further. Usually people wait till they hear from the office first, and perhaps we can resolve this to your satisfaction. We’d appreciate if you refrain from any further activities on the internet. “
Well, Mr. Anthony, first thing I need is a sincere apology for the hundreds of dirty words you said to me and to all Chinese people, not some hint and threat.
