Packing Your Table Lamps When packing your table lamp, make sure you have an adequately sized box to accommodate it. If you can't find a carton that fits the size of your lamp, a dishpack carton will work as a substitute. Make sure you line the bottom of the box you're using with enough cushioning. So before you start packing your table lamp, remove the bulb and the lampshade. Wrap the lamp's cord around the base. Avoid using packing tape as it may strip the paint or outer coating of your lamp. Afterwards, cover the lamp in bubble wrap and fold over the edges on the top and bottom before you tape. Put the lamp in the box and fill any spaces with extra bubble wrap to prevent shifting during transit.
Moving Pets by Plane This may seem obvious, but you should try to book a direct flight for your pet to minimize the time your pet spends sitting outside. Some of the times you will need to have handy in order to transport your pet include a health certificate from the vet and a pet container. Some airlines offer their own container which meets airline regulations. Be sure to check with your airline of choice beforehand. Also, a good way to reassure and comfort your pet for the flight is by giving it something you wear, such as an old sweater.
Wiping Up Residue Once you move into your new home, take some time to check inside your cabinets and drawers. The management most likely had pest control take care of any extra roommates after the last tenant left, but you can never be too sure if the pesticides are harmful to people. Get a dishrag and wipe inside your drawers and cabinets.
Number by Priority One way of prioritizing your items for the move is by assigning numbers from most important to least important. Mark a 1 on all of your boxes that contain items you need immediately or on a regular basis. You should mark a 2 on boxes that have items you won't be using right away, but possibly within a month or so such as books and movies. A 3 should be assigned to seasonal items, and 4 for the items meant for storage.

As for what we wanted to say to you and the crews about our move, please see below: At every step of the way, you and the people you sent to take care of our relocation, made the move as easy as we possibly could have hoped for. Crew members were unfailingly professional, effective and efficient as well as pleasant and courteous. Each of them was a pleasure to deal with. In a number of situations, crew supervisors decided to bring in a larger staff; in each case, that decision made a positive difference to us, since the job got done more quickly and much more effectively. We very much appreciated the care and attention to our move that each person on each of the crews displayed. Thank you all so much! Hope that\'s helpful. Cordially, 5.0000

I would have to say this is the 1st time I chose a moving company that I didn\'t have one complaint!!! From the moment I called for a quote to the time of picking up my belongings and having the truck deliver to my new home. No nicks, scratches, or broken glasses from the entire move! I really liked the four guys that moved me...very professional, clean cut, and helpful..You could tell they really cared about my belongings...especially my piano! Hats off to Magic Moving and Storage, what true pro\'s.. I would refer anyone to them.. 5.0000

Silicon Valley Moving patti m. 5 Aug 2011 For more updated info than is provided here, just check "Yelp"... For more updated info than is provided here, just check \"Yelp\" website. To give the short version: manipulative, petty, dishonest, lying, abusive of trust, stealing, cheating, .............. the list is endless. Such a shame for the guys who do the REAL work of moving. They were careful, polite, pleasant, meticulous, and I could go on and on. I only hope they will get away from this company and do their hard work for another which values their contribution, which is really what this business should be all about. Bilking a few dollars out of any customer is absolutely outrageous. I would welcome anyone who is interested in hearing about my horrid experience with this company to contact me. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!! 1.0000

Move It Elsewhere Susanna 15 May 2011 GOOD NEWS: MIE did a fantastic job of moving my father from hi... GOOD NEWS: MIE did a fantastic job of moving my father from his 2200 sf home of 50 years into a small apartment in a senior facility, on very short notice. They were flexible when dad had not done all the packing he\\\\\\\'d promised (for an additional fee), but the job got done in time. \\r\\n\\r\\nBAD NEWS: The consignment aspect of this relationship was a DISASTER. Failed to provide an inventory of goods taken for months, and only then after being threatened. Suzanne refused to take calls, insisting on e-mail communication, despite admitting to me and my sister that she dislikes e-mail and had over 100 unread e-mails in her in-box. The first inventory arrived months late, and was incomplete, missing major expensive items. Suzanne made one or two additional attempts at inventory, but NEVER provided one that was accurate or complete. She also never made timely pay-outs on accounts. Only issued checks when threatened, months late. Payments were unaccompanied by ANY explanation or documentation, and were suspiciously small. She told us to quit bugging her because she was a \\\\\\\"busy woman\\\\\\\" with so many accounts she couldn\\\\\\\'t be expected to get back to everyone - and suggested we were unreasonable to expect her to comply with her own terms. After close to a year of unanswered requests for documentation or explanation for the pay-outs, Suzanne demanded that my 86 year-old father repossess his property (at his own expense) because his family was \\\\\\\"too much trouble\\\\\\\"!! My father has no children living in the Bay Area, and was now living in a small apartment - how did she think he was going to do this, and where did she think he was going to put this stuff? Wasn\\\\\\\'t that why we hired her in the first place? Dad finally took her to small claims court (although his losses exceeded that limit - didn\\\\\\\'t want the hassle of a full-blown civil case). At the hearing, told him she had a stack of \\\\\\\"evidence\\\\\\\" and convinced him to accept a settlement consisting of a fraction of what he had lost. I would avoid the consignment aspect of this business like the plague. 1.0000

We hired them on the recommendation of a shipper we use to pack and pallate 18 pieces of furniture for shipping. We called and got an estimate for 600-800 dollars. They sent two men who spent an entire day without finishing the job. I fired them at the end of the day and received a bill for 1600 dollars. Unreliable estimastes and very unprofeesional attitude. I\'ll never use them again. 1.0000
