Moving Musical Instruments Your musical instruments should be cleaned before packing. For example, you should have a small toiletry kit, bottles of water, a change of clothing, a first aid kid, and a flashlight in there. Moving Your Fish It's important not to feed your fish for several days prior to the move. This is to insure that your pets' digestive systems are cleared and won't contaminate the water; fish tend to excrete a lot when they're stressed. Have a large cooler prepared for transporting your fish in their respective plastic baggies. Make sure to secure the bags with rubber bands. Moving Out of Your Apartment? Regardless of whether or not you're on a month-to-month lease, you should give an official written notice of your move-out date at least a month in advance. This is standard procedure and it can give you and your landlord sufficient time to settle matters such as your security deposit. If you're on a full-term lease, you may be liable for an early termination penalty. If it's possible, schedule your move-out date around the same time as the end of your lease to avoid paying for the penalty.
