Packing Your Mirrors Packing mirrors require special attention. You can safely wrap your mirrors in tissue paper or cover the mirror face with masking tape. However, if you have more expensive mirrors to move, you should consider investing in boxes that are specifically designed for transporting mirrors. Moving Your Pool Table The difference between a piano and a pool table is that the latter can be disassembled. If you don’t want to spend a lot of time taking apart your pool table, make sure to have a prepared path for the movers. Check to see if the path is clear by ridding anything that may be blocking the way. Also, pay attention to the walkway outside and make note if the sidewalk is broken, etc. Packing Your Bathroom When you’re packing your bathroom, make sure you don’t end up putting your essential toiletries away in the box as well. Keep your toothbrush, soap, and shampoo in a separate bag or container so you can use it when you need it. Removing the Weights in a Grandfather Clock If you can’t afford to hire a clock specialist to service your grandfather clock, you can carefully remove the weights yourself. You should always don cotton gloves before you change/remove anything inside the clock. Remove the weights piece by piece and note each of their respective positions so you can reinstall them in the correct order. If the weights are suspended by cables, break off an adequately-sized piece of Styrofoam, cut a slit through the middle, and fit the Styrofoam around the pulley. This way, it'll prevent any damage your pulleys may receive during transit. Afterwards, remove the weights.
