Return Before Take Off If you’ve rented videos at the local video shop, checked out library books, or have clothes at the dry cleaners, make a note to yourself to take care of these items before you leave. Packing Crystal and Glassware Every piece of crystal and glassware should be individually covered with bubble wrap. If you pack more than one piece of crystal or glassware into a single box, go ahead and use dividers to prevent your items from bumping into each other during transit. You should also cushion the bottom of the box with a layer of materials such as extra bubble wrap or packing peanuts. Padded dish boxes work very well for transporting crystal or glassware. Be sure to mark “Fragile” and “This Side Up” on the box for the movers. Your Relocation List Once you’ve decided that you’ll be moving, it’s time to plan out your steps by making a list. In the same vein as a to-do list, you should start separating different tasks such as packing order, contacting your primary care provider, transferring records, discontinuing utilities, and everything else by a weekly breakdown. Don’t be afraid to add more things as you go along, and by the time moving day arrives, you’ll be prepared to move in without any reservations as to whether or not you’ve missed any crucial details. Taking Out Shelves Anything with shelves should be removed from their respective pieces of furniture before you move. This includes bookcases, television stands, curio and china cabinets, and hutches. Be sure to keep your shelf pins together in the same plastic bag once you're done.

A Dynamic Moving & Storage So I hired this company to simply move a 2 bedroom apartment i... 1.0
So I hired this company to simply move a 2 bedroom apartment into storage and I was taking the red eye that night to Hawaii. Well they were supposed to be there at 1 pm which is cutting it close but they had another move early that morning so I figured I'd be alright they seemed like a pretty reliable company. So 4 o'clock rolls around I am PANICKING turns out there truck broke down and they just figured w/e so I am blowing up the companys phone and counting on them to move me in time... (had this planned and booked 3 weeks prior) they never show I end up having to change my flight which cost about five hundred dollars and call another moving company and pay emergency costs to get them out the next day. They owner literally said "sorry i dont' really care and theres nothing I can do the truck broke down" well they could've called me immediately... they could've gone and rented a truck to fulfill there job and not leave me hanging... literally it was the worst experience of my life. They owners are all foriegn and speak horrible english so it's hard to have a conversation with them. I had to give them a large deposit to reserve them to move me and it took them nearly 2 weeks and my bank starting an investigation before it was even returned to me for a service they never showed up for! PLEASE find another company... they are not cheaper then other companys (acutally pretty equal) and WAY less professional.
