If you’re planning on putting your electronics in storage for a long-term period, don’t use plastic as this could potentially cause damage to them by trapping moisture inside. Using the original boxes is often your best option because the boxes are already fitted for the specific dimensions of your electronics. Your Relocation List Once you’ve decided that you’ll be moving, it’s time to plan out your steps by making a list. In the same vein as a to-do list, you should start separating different tasks such as packing order, contacting your primary care provider, transferring records, discontinuing utilities, and everything else by a weekly breakdown. Don’t be afraid to add more things as you go along, and by the time moving day arrives, you’ll be prepared to move in without any reservations as to whether or not you’ve missed any crucial details. Preparing Pots and Pans for Moving Although pots and pans vary in size, you can usually nest about three of each together in a single carton. Make sure you have large enough pieces of packing paper to cover the entire interior of your largest pan and leave some cushioning on the bottom of the crate. The first pot or pan you place inside the box should be the smallest in size. The pan or pot should be upside down with several sheets of packing paper on top of it before you stack the next one. Once you've stacked three, fill the spaces with packing material to prevent shifting. Don't wait until the last minute to get all of your items packed and ready for transportation.
