Packing Crystal and Glassware Every piece of crystal and glassware should be individually covered with bubble wrap. If you pack more than one piece of crystal or glassware into a single box, go ahead and use dividers to prevent your items from bumping into each other during transit. You should also cushion the bottom of the box with a layer of materials such as extra bubble wrap or packing peanuts. Padded dish boxes work very well for transporting crystal or glassware. Be sure to mark “Fragile” and “This Side Up” on the box for the movers. The Price Isn't Always Right Low cost movers do exist as impossible as it may seem. Unfortunately, like all good things, it requires a little time and searching on your part. Keep in mind however, just because a carrier is offering a ridiculously low cost estimate, that doesn’t make them the best choice. Referrals, reviews, and investigation are still needed for the final verdict. Heavy Duty Moving If you’re looking for a full service mover that transports heavy cargo like boats and RVs, keep in mind that there are certain regulations placed by the Department of Transportation that movers have to abide by. For heavy equipment such as tractors, moving companies should offer specific accommodations for safe transportation such as registered blade guards, an adequately sized pintle hook, and wide selection of trailers. Some moving companies don’t even require you to disassemble your equipment. Take steps in figuring out which available service works for you and go from there when you’re looking for a company to move your heavy equipment. Coping with Your Move If your partner or spouse is moving, chances are you'll be moving as well. Although it may be difficult to suddenly uproot and move to a different city, there are ways to make the relocation transition easier on you. One simple way of keeping yourself buoyant during this transition includes finding new opportunities to explore and practice what you love in your new city. Find like-minded people who share the same passion and network. Making new friends who share the same passion as you can help dull the separation anxiety you feel for your old home.
