Fill Out Your Prescription Do you have prescription medication you need to take on a routine basis? Be sure to fill out your prescription before you move so that you don’t have to worry about it. On moving day, make sure your medication is separated from your other items so that they don’t get mixed with everything else being loaded onto the truck. Packing Crystal and Glassware Every piece of crystal and glassware should be individually covered with bubble wrap. If you pack more than one piece of crystal or glassware into a single box, go ahead and use dividers to prevent your items from bumping into each other during transit. You should also cushion the bottom of the box with a layer of materials such as extra bubble wrap or packing peanuts. Padded dish boxes work very well for transporting crystal or glassware. Be sure to mark “Fragile” and “This Side Up” on the box for the movers. Moving In a Passenger Car What most people don't know is that most car accidents that involve a large truck are often caused by the smaller vehicle. Not many people know how to safely pass a big rig or what to do when a truck is preparing to make a wide turn. If you're moving in a passenger vehicle, you should keep a few things in mind. Always pass on the left side of a big rig. A large truck requires more stopping distance than a car, so try to maintain a fair amount of distance between the both of you if you're ahead. Number by Priority One way of prioritizing your items for the move is by assigning numbers from most important to least important. Mark a 1 on all of your boxes that contain items you need immediately or on a regular basis. You should mark a 2 on boxes that have items you won't be using right away, but possibly within a month or so such as books and movies. A 3 should be assigned to seasonal items, and 4 for the items meant for storage.

Mels Moving Do not ever hire Mels moving. They ripped ,e off a totel of $2.... 1.0
Do not ever hire Mels moving. They ripped ,e off a totel of $2.000 and had the odacity to ask for more.I had perscription drugs missing,DVD's and some jewelry valued at $3,500.I'm in the process of filing charges. When I brought up the company in question the Portland Police was well aware of this companies shoddy buisness practises and informed me that they were part of handfull of companies that are al related and have along history of ripping people off.My advice is to not ever hire mels moving,Tuckers & sons moving,or maineway trucking/atlantic coastal movers. They are all in it together according to the portland police.

Mels Moving This was the most horrible moving experience I can imagine. ... 1.0
This was the most horrible moving experience I can imagine.

This guy is unprofessional, uncaring and totally incapable. Nothing happened when it was suppose to. Packing was practically non=existent. Results were greasy dirt on mattresses and furniture. Scratches on antiques and the corners of anything wood. Missing pieces on items needing assembled, and an owner that won't answer calls.

I would highly recommend anyone else.
