Taking Inventory Taking inventory is a great way of organizing and managing all of the different tasks you have to keep track of, and if you format it in a checklist style, you can easily separate the things you have yet to do and what you’ve already completed. Preparing Pots and Pans for Moving Although pots and pans vary in size, you can usually nest about three of each together in a single carton. Make sure you have large enough pieces of packing paper to cover the entire interior of your largest pan and leave some cushioning on the bottom of the crate. The first pot or pan you place inside the box should be the smallest in size. The pan or pot should be upside down with several sheets of packing paper on top of it before you stack the next one. Once you've stacked three, fill the spaces with packing material to prevent shifting. When Moving Your Piano When preparing to move your piano, there are a few things you should keep in mind before you start. First, you should know the approximate weight of your instrument. Baby grand pianos weigh around 500 to 800 pounds, and longer grand pianos can weigh up to 1200 pounds respectively. You should never rely on the piano's casters to move the piano as most are simply meant for decorative purposes. By forcing the casters to move across your floor, you risk jamming the casters, possibly tearing and gouging your carpet or floor. A 4-wheel piano dolly is absolutely essential.
