Moving Into the City If you're moving into an urban environment for the first time, there are a few things you should be prepared for. Parking is one factor you should take into consideration. Transporting Medicine Before you pack your medicine for moving, seal all of the caps with masking tape. Naturally, your medicine bottles should be packed in an upright position. For certain drugs such as insulin, exposure to heat can cause it to lose potency. Talk to your pharmacist and inquire about what measures you can take to prevent this. It's recommended that you transport your own medication.
Plastic Durability If you have any plastic kitchen containers such as Tupperware, you can use these to protect your smaller more fragile items. If you want to insure a more shock-absorbent capacity, you can double-box the containers before placing your items inside.
Meter Readings Before you close the door to your old home for the last time, jot down all of your meter readings. This way, you have a reference to look back on once you receive your final bill from the utility companies. You can also call the utility companies to arrange for meter readings on the last day if you have time.
