Moving Close For short distance moving, it may seem strange to hire extra help. Other than a rental truck, you can do everything else on your own, right? So why pay for it? While this may be the case for those who don’t have families and large amount of items to transport, those who do may need to look into moving companies for assistance. By going through a professional moving service, you can insure that they’ll load and deliver your goods without any fear of mishandling, and you can always compare estimates to get the best deal out there. Packing Your Table Lamps When packing your table lamp, make sure you have an adequately sized box to accommodate it. If you can't find a carton that fits the size of your lamp, a dishpack carton will work as a substitute. Make sure you line the bottom of the box you're using with enough cushioning. So before you start packing your table lamp, remove the bulb and the lampshade. Wrap the lamp's cord around the base. Avoid using packing tape as it may strip the paint or outer coating of your lamp. Afterwards, cover the lamp in bubble wrap and fold over the edges on the top and bottom before you tape. Put the lamp in the box and fill any spaces with extra bubble wrap to prevent shifting during transit. Packing Your Lamp Shadees Your lamp shades should be packed in a separate box from your lamps. Avoid using newspaper as stuffing material as the ink may cause stains on your shades. Use clean packing paper or bubble wrap to protect your lamp shades' linings. Try stacking your lamp shades into a single, large carton with packing material between each. Packing Heavy Items There are a few things you should keep in mind when you're packing items that weigh more than thirty pounds. Firstly, the box you're using should be of a stronger quality with seams that are either stitched or stapled. To prevent crushing or shifting, invest in corrugated or molded foams to protect your heavier belongings instead of packing paper or peanuts. Heavy cushioning could mean the difference between seeing your items safely home and finding them damaged after you unpack.

United Van Lines
When full-service moving companies like United Van Lines offers portable containers, they're typically not as competitively priced as companies that specialize in moving containers. However, since United Van Lines is offering its container services in conjunction with the moving company Mayflower, this may not be the case. This suggests that both companies have a large investment in storage services, so prospective customers can expect comparable competitive pricing in regards to their storage rates.
