Doctor's Orders If you’re moving to a completely different city, be sure to ask your doctor or your health insurance company to refer a care provider for you. Packing Crystal and Glassware Every piece of crystal and glassware should be individually covered with bubble wrap. If you pack more than one piece of crystal or glassware into a single box, go ahead and use dividers to prevent your items from bumping into each other during transit. You should also cushion the bottom of the box with a layer of materials such as extra bubble wrap or packing peanuts. Padded dish boxes work very well for transporting crystal or glassware. Be sure to mark “Fragile” and “This Side Up” on the box for the movers. Preparing the Pets Have you made arrangements for your pets? Consider visiting the vet before moving day. Be sure to take this opportunity to get your pet’s veterinary records. You don’t want to leave it to the last minute. Organizing Packing Boxes Once you’ve figured out all of the packing supplies you will need, try grouping similar-sized boxes together. You should have separate piles designated for certain items. This way, you won’t have to sort through heavy piles for a particular box you need.
