This moving company moved someone around the corner from me, on another street, on Sat., 4/30. While exiting my neighborhood, the truck pulled a wire from my house, ripping the vinyl siding, which is only 4 years old. The driver, Gabriel, stopped and very nicely left all the company info with my neighbor, who witnessed this incident, and said to call the office on Monday, if there was a problem. My husband noticed the ripped siding after the truck pulled away. We have filed a police report. I called on Monday, 5/2,and first spoke with Pat, the manager, who screamed at me and hung up, AFTER saying it was MY responsibility to find out who the customer was and that the insurance claim went through the customer. I said I had NO idea who the customer was, what house they were servicing, and that it should not be my responsibility and don't they have records? They said they only had pick-up records, not delivery records on their contracts, ABSURD! Called back same day (Mon) and spoke with Alex, who said he would get in touch with Gabriel (driver) to verify what happened and call me back. No call back today, Tues., 5/3, so I called and spoke with Michael, who tells me NOW that they have NO responsibility for a utility wire hanging in the street. It was not hanging in the way and had been there for several years and thousands of deliveries and other types of trucks going down the street! I asked why Gabriel on Saturday would have said, "any problems, just call the office," and he said he is only a driver. I asked why Pat and Alex yesterday said it had to go through the actual customer's contract, for insurance purposes, and that they needed to speak with Gabriel to verify things, if they are not responsible for the damage? He did not give me a satisfactory answer to this question either. I hung up.
