Taking Inventory Taking inventory is a great way of organizing and managing all of the different tasks you have to keep track of, and if you format it in a checklist style, you can easily separate the things you have yet to do and what you’ve already completed. Removing the Weights in a Grandfather Clock If you can’t afford to hire a clock specialist to service your grandfather clock, you can carefully remove the weights yourself. You should always don cotton gloves before you change/remove anything inside the clock. Remove the weights piece by piece and note each of their respective positions so you can reinstall them in the correct order. If the weights are suspended by cables, break off an adequately-sized piece of Styrofoam, cut a slit through the middle, and fit the Styrofoam around the pulley. This way, it'll prevent any damage your pulleys may receive during transit. Afterwards, remove the weights. Moving Out of Your Apartment? Regardless of whether or not you're on a month-to-month lease, you should give an official written notice of your move-out date at least a month in advance. This is standard procedure and it can give you and your landlord sufficient time to settle matters such as your security deposit. If you're on a full-term lease, you may be liable for an early termination penalty.
