Short on Boxes? If you find yourself short on boxes, you can always acquire heavier carton boxes from liquor stores, super markets, paper warehouses or mail order supply houses. Some moving supply companies offer used boxes for lower prices as well.
Moving Your Waterbed Before you move your waterbed, it may be in your best interest to invest in a protection plan in case it suffers any damage during transit. You'll want to drain the waterbed mattress with a drain pump, or if you're pressed for time, an electric pump which can deflate a waterbed mattress in half an hour. The time it takes to drain is contingent on what type of mattress you have and the water pressure. Once that's done, make sure you fold it from head to foot and pack it away in a carton. Make sure that there isn't anything inside that could potentially puncture it.
Moving Into the City If you're moving into an urban environment for the first time, there are a few things you should be prepared for. Parking is one factor you should take into consideration. If you're relocating to a dense city where parking is typically a premium, be sure to check in advance about any restrictions you may encounter on moving day. Also, if you're moving into an apartment complex, you should keep security in mind. Leaving the door propped open can pose a risk to your neighbors.

Man With A Van Marketa Esaili 7 Nov 2011 .... because 5 stars is not enough. We needed to move 2 bdrm ... .... because 5 stars is not enough. We needed to move 2 bdrm apartment furnishing from New Paltz to Westchester with additional three distant places for furniture pick up and drop off. It looked like it will be very long day, The 3 men team arrived perfectly on time, The van was ready - clean outside and inside, packed with neatly folded blankets and moving tools. Three guys were very professional and also very friendly. They were working fast but with care and high responsibility. Although moving on different places was not under the easiest conditions, moving team showed good spirit from the beginning until the job was finished. All job was accomplished within less then 7 hours. The New Paltz \"Man with the van\" is the best ! 5.0000

Based on my last experience with them, I would not use them again nor, would I recommend their service to anyone else. In my last move, based on looking at the contents of the storage unit, I received an estimate from one of their reps (Mike Woods). Despite this, my move came in $1000 over the original estimate. During the process, Mike did not return my phone calls or let me know about the final amount or date and time of delivery until 3:30 pm the Friday before my Monday am delivery date. Communication was unprofessional . I was expected to have a money order for the final amount at the time of delivery and this left me very little time to make these arrangements. When I disputed the cost and demanded a reweigh of the freight, I was told to write a check for the highest amount of the estimate (which was still within a $500 range), and told that he would “work out the rest with Arpin (the trucking company) later.” Three months later, after the move was complete and paid in full, they contacted me demanding I pay an additional $500. After much back and forth negotiation and constant bullying and scare tactics, they were still unwilling to budge or listen to my complaints. They even threatened that if I was not willing to make payment arrangements, they would send it to collections and I would then be responsible for paying $7500 back (instead of the $500 owed), which was the supposed 64% “discount” I received on the move. 1.0000

Peers Moving Co Dennis S. 19 Oct 2011 October 2011 I had to write a letter of appreciation about ... October 2011 I had to write a letter of appreciation about Peers Moving Co. It was a very stressful time in moving into another home. The move was done in the August before school had started. We had to make a change with the moving date. You had called up other customers and had made room for us to move so we would not be ‘homeless’. When we had run into another problem, you had come up with solutions for us. The moving crew had taken such good care of our belonging and homes. I had bought putty to fix up the walls after the furniture was moved since the walls would probably be damaged. The walls were not damaged. The moving crew was a great group with good humor that took excellent care of our possessions. They went out of their way to position furniture for my wife (as she changed her mind!). The move was handled extremely well and I would recommend Peers Moving Company to anyone. 5.0000
