Moving Musical Instruments Your musical instruments should be cleaned before packing. If you have any instruments that can be disassembled into individual parts such as a detachable mouthpiece, be sure to do so. Also, consider investing in a hard case for your instrument. Soft cases are great for carrying instruments, but the sturdier hard cases are better for loading and damage prevention. Packing Your Kitchen Kitchen appliances and utensils can be sharp or blunt, and you should cover your bases when you’re packing these items. One great precautionary measure you can take is by using bubble wrap to protect these items during transit. If you’re saving your bubble wrap for more fragile items, you can use hand towels to wrap them individually. Open Lines of Communication You should always have open lines of communication with your driver and moving coordinator in order to provide loading details, and whether or not the client still intends on moving everything on the estimate. Be sure to have your phone turned off late on moving day or better yet, late the next day. Moving Pets by Plane This may seem obvious, but you should try to book a direct flight for your pet to minimize the time your pet spends sitting outside. Some of the times you will need to have handy in order to transport your pet include a health certificate from the vet and a pet container. Some airlines offer their own container which meets airline regulations. Be sure to check with your airline of choice beforehand. Also, a good way to reassure and comfort your pet for the flight is by giving it something you wear, such as an old sweater.
