Moving Tips
For Containers Only
Pack your containers accordingly by sealing any open containers to prevent spilling. If you have any ceramic containers, make sure to remove the lids and wrap them separately, especially since they’re so fragile. You should make sure that any liquids that you’re transporting aren’t toxic, corrosive, or flammable.
Packing Your Kitchen
Kitchen appliances and utensils can be sharp or blunt, and you should cover your bases when you’re packing these items. One great precautionary measure you can take is by using bubble wrap to protect these items during transit. If you’re saving your bubble wrap for more fragile items, you can use hand towels to wrap them individually.
Loading the Trailer
If you’re loading your boxes into a truck, be sure to get the heavier items inside first and the lighter items towards the back of the truck. This will prevent your truck from being unbalanced. Also, load the truck a quarter at a time and fit everything as tightly together as possible.
Measuring Doorways
Your new home may look nice and comfy, but there are some things you should keep in mind before you move in. One such detail is the width of your doorways. Be sure to measure them so you can figure out whether or not you can move your furniture and appliances in without any difficulty.
