Taking Inventory Taking inventory is a great way of organizing and managing all of the different tasks you have to keep track of, and if you format it in a checklist style, you can easily separate the things you have yet to do and what you’ve already completed. Also, make note of the conditions of your belongings so that you have something to refer to once your belongings have been transported to your new home.
Small-engine Vehicle Storage If you own an ATV, motorcycle, or some kind of small-engine vehicle, there are certain things you need to keep in mind before you store them into a self-storage facility. For one, licensed vehicles such as motorcycles require updated tags, otherwise your self-storage facility may not allow you to store your vehicle.
Basic Furniture Moving When moving furniture, make sure to remove any glass surfaces and pack them separately. Wrap them in moving pads to prevent any possible damage during transit. Never slide or drag your furniture along hardwood floors; carpeted dollies or furniture glides are a good investment for moving heavy pieces of furniture.
Wiping Up Residue Once you move into your new home, take some time to check inside your cabinets and drawers. The management most likely had pest control take care of any extra roommates after the last tenant left, but you can never be too sure if the pesticides are harmful to people. Get a dishrag and wipe inside your drawers and cabinets.

DECEITFUL!!!When I signed contract on day of move, the guy asked if I wanted add\'l insurance. I have a couple expensive pieces so I had him explain it to me. He told me for extra $50 I could get up to $8K add\'l insurance. I took it. Well, as 3 of us looked on we witnessed them damage a piece worth $3K. The guy just said, \"Good thing you got extra insurance.\" I also pointed out how they damaged door entry with several dents. He said he wouldnt write down entry way because we didnt see it happen. I had to make claim within 10 days and did so. Took MULTIPLE phone calls and 8 MONTHS for them to get back to me with lousy offer on piece and said they wouldnt pay for door since the guy didnt write it down before he left. Said I was misinformed on amount of insurance I paid for. So in end I received $150. HORRIBLE TO WORK WITH AND CREATES EVERY DAMN LOOP HOLE TO SCREW PAYING CUSTOMERS!! 1.0000
