Packing Your Mirrors Packing mirrors require special attention. You can safely wrap your mirrors in tissue paper or cover the mirror face with masking tape. However, if you have more expensive mirrors to move, you should consider investing in boxes that are specifically designed for transporting mirrors. Packing Your Printer or Scanner Any remote devices you may use with your computer, such as your printer and scanner, should be packed separately in their own boxes. Be sure to disconnect their respective cables and cords. If you don’t have the original boxes for these devices, pick an appropriately sized box for each and fill it with protective material to prevent any possible damage during transportation. Loading the Trailer If you’re loading your boxes into a truck, be sure to get the heavier items inside first and the lighter items towards the back of the truck. This will prevent your truck from being unbalanced. Also, load the truck a quarter at a time and fit everything as tightly together as possible. Organizing Packing Boxes Once you’ve figured out all of the packing supplies you will need, try grouping similar-sized boxes together. You should have separate piles designated for certain items. This way, you won’t have to sort through heavy piles for a particular box you need.
