Registering In a New State When you’re moving long distance, you should prioritize what items should be packed first amongst other considerations. Registering your car is also something to be aware of since you’ll assumedly be crossing into another state. Remember that each state has its own set of rules in terms of vehicle registration and tags, so be sure to research it prior to your move. That way, you can take the necessary steps once you’re there. Properly Packing Boxes Keep in mind that your movers will more than likely inspect your boxes for safety reasons. On moving day, be sure to single out which boxes require careful handling as you go through your inventory. Movers will also point out any boxes they think aren’t properly packed. If this happens, the mover will likely suggest that the boxes in question need to be repacked or reinforced. And label your boxes with which room they are to go into at destination. This will help during the unpacking as the boxes will be in the correct area. Loading the Trailer If you’re loading your boxes into a truck, be sure to get the heavier items inside first and the lighter items towards the back of the truck. This will prevent your truck from being unbalanced. Also, load the truck a quarter at a time and fit everything as tightly together as possible. Open Lines of Communication You should always have open lines of communication with your driver and moving coordinator in order to provide loading details, and whether or not the client still intends on moving everything on the estimate. Be sure to have your phone turned off late on moving day or better yet, late the next day.

Our Company had a difficult job in Rhode Island that required the assistance of another piano moving professional. We hired A A Able Moving & Storage and were told 3 men would arrive. After showing up an hour and half late, they only sent 2 men, not 3. Our customer wanted another person before they would allow us to complete the move. AAAble needed an extra $50 for this, but demanded cash. Our drivers only had the agreed upon $200 in cash with them. While trying to work out a solution, the customer ended up cancelling their job due to the unprofessional behavior, language and delay caused by AAAble. To make matters worse, these movers were demanding payment from us--for work they A) did not do and B) caused us to lose. They were yelling and screaming on the phone, threatening to "kick our *ss" and "come find us and hurt us", and rampaging through the customer's home. I'm sorry but not only did we lose the business because of them, we also had an unhappy customer who should never of had to witness such childish behavior. To begin with, what kind of professional company does not accept credit cards or checks? Buyer Beware!!!
