Packing Crystal and Glassware Every piece of crystal and glassware should be individually covered with bubble wrap. If you pack more than one piece of crystal or glassware into a single box, go ahead and use dividers to prevent your items from bumping into each other during transit. You should also cushion the bottom of the box with a layer of materials such as extra bubble wrap or packing peanuts. Padded dish boxes work very well for transporting crystal or glassware. Be sure to mark “Fragile” and “This Side Up” on the box for the movers. Your Emergency Backpack It’s a good idea to have an emergency kit or backpack ready as you move to your new home. You should reserve this backpack for unforeseen cases and pack it appropriately with all of the essential items. The management most likely had pest control take care of any extra roommates after the last tenant left, but you can never be too sure if the pesticides are harmful to people. Get a dishrag and wipe inside your drawers and cabinets.
