Packing Electronics Some basic things to take care of as you pack your electronics include ejecting any cassettes, compact discs, videotapes, or DVDs out of their players. If you’re planning on putting your electronics in storage for a long-term period, don’t use plastic as this could potentially cause damage to them by trapping moisture inside. Using the original boxes is often your best option because the boxes are already fitted for the specific dimensions of your electronics. Packing Your Mirrors Packing mirrors require special attention. You can safely wrap your mirrors in tissue paper or cover the mirror face with masking tape. However, if you have more expensive mirrors to move, you should consider investing in boxes that are specifically designed for transporting mirrors. The Little Things Keep tabs on all of the little screws, nuts, and bolts when you’re dismantling your furniture. You can use Ziploc bags to pack them. Be sure to label them properly before putting them away! Loading the Trailer If you’re loading your boxes into a truck, be sure to get the heavier items inside first and the lighter items towards the back of the truck.
