Stocking Up On Supplies You can find commercial moving supplies almost anywhere, from your local drugstores and supermarkets to moving storage buildings and truck rental places. Make sure to stock up on packing tape, boxes, box-cutters, labels, packing peanuts, and bubble wrap. Oftentimes, you can sell back any extra boxes or items you have left over.
For Containers Only Pack your containers accordingly by sealing any open containers to prevent spilling. If you have any ceramic containers, make sure to remove the lids and wrap them separately, especially since they’re so fragile. You should make sure that any liquids that you’re transporting aren’t toxic, corrosive, or flammable.
Basic Furniture Moving When moving furniture, make sure to remove any glass surfaces and pack them separately. Wrap them in moving pads to prevent any possible damage during transit. Never slide or drag your furniture along hardwood floors; carpeted dollies or furniture glides are a good investment for moving heavy pieces of furniture.
Moving In a Passenger Car What most people don't know is that most car accidents that involve a large truck are often caused by the smaller vehicle. Not many people know how to safely pass a big rig or what to do when a truck is preparing to make a wide turn. If you're moving in a passenger vehicle, you should keep a few things in mind. Always pass on the left side of a big rig. A large truck requires more stopping distance than a car, so try to maintain a fair amount of distance between the both of you if you're ahead.

Eastern Moving & Storage Fred Rafferty 9 Aug 2012 This company is like someone who hits your car in the parking ... This company is like someone who hits your car in the parking lot and makes no attempt to find you and try to make it right. They have NO integrity or pride in their company. My new neighbors used them and apparently it\\\\\\\'s their company practice to use the lawn of the neighbor’s lawn across the street to pull up on (multiple times) and damage it. While they were leaving they damaged my custom made mailbox by running over it. The drivers made NO REPORT on the damage. After calling the company to make sure they were aware of the situation, the lady who answered the phone was very polite and apologetic. After talking to the VP of the business, I am surprise of his lack of concern and he made NO EFFORT on making amends. If they are like this, how will they be with your furniture and personal items? Think twice about using this company. 1.0000

When it was the day of delivery, they never showed. Three days later, after the found our furniture because they \\\\\\\"lost\\\\\\\" it, we rec\\\\\\\'d our house full of goods. After filing a claim over $10000.00 due to missing, damaged, destroyed items and fighting for over four months, we rec\\\\\\\'d our settlement through their insurance company. However, Apple Transfer itself is responsible for paying out a $1000 deductible to us, which to this day May of 2012, almost a year later, we still have not received. My husband calls 2-3 times a week inquiring about it and is always told to stop calling or that it has been mailed. It is about the principle of the situation at this point, not the money. There has not been one person that was friendly to us, helpful, or compassionate that most of our belongings were destroyed or missing. DO NOT USE this company if you do not have to. We should have known something was wrong when their packers told us they were late because they did not care about working due to their paychecks bouncing from their bank. 1.0000
