Packing Your Printer or Scanner Any remote devices you may use with your computer, such as your printer and scanner, should be packed separately in their own boxes. Be sure to disconnect their respective cables and cords. If you don’t have the original boxes for these devices, pick an appropriately sized box for each and fill it with protective material to prevent any possible damage during transportation. Stocking Up On Supplies You can find commercial moving supplies almost anywhere, from your local drugstores and supermarkets to moving storage buildings and truck rental places. Make sure to stock up on packing tape, boxes, box-cutters, labels, packing peanuts, and bubble wrap. Oftentimes, you can sell back any extra boxes or items you have left over. Open Lines of Communication You should always have open lines of communication with your driver and moving coordinator in order to provide loading details, and whether or not the client still intends on moving everything on the estimate. Be sure to have your phone turned off late on moving day or better yet, late the next day. Moving Pets by Plane This may seem obvious, but you should try to book a direct flight for your pet to minimize the time your pet spends sitting outside. Some of the times you will need to have handy in order to transport your pet include a health certificate from the vet and a pet container. Some airlines offer their own container which meets airline regulations. Be sure to check with your airline of choice beforehand. Also, a good way to reassure and comfort your pet for the flight is by giving it something you wear, such as an old sweater.
