Registering In a New State When you’re moving long distance, you should prioritize what items should be packed first amongst other considerations. Registering your car is also something to be aware of since you’ll assumedly be crossing into another state. Remember that each state has its own set of rules in terms of vehicle registration and tags, so be sure to research it prior to your move. That way, you can take the necessary steps once you’re there.
Packing Your Wine Collection If you’re a wine connoisseur and own a sizeable wine collection, you should consider these steps if you’re moving. It’s a good idea to have a professional appraise your collection if you believe it to be high-value. Purchasing wine-packing boxes is a good idea to safely transport your collection. Remember to always pack your wine on the side. Once you’ve moved into your new home, wait up to seven days for your wine to rest before you open a bottle.
Removing the Weights in a Grandfather Clock If you can’t afford to hire a clock specialist to service your grandfather clock, you can carefully remove the weights yourself. You should always don cotton gloves before you change/remove anything inside the clock. Remove the weights piece by piece and note each of their respective positions so you can reinstall them in the correct order. If the weights are suspended by cables, break off an adequately-sized piece of Styrofoam, cut a slit through the middle, and fit the Styrofoam around the pulley. This way, it'll prevent any damage your pulleys may receive during transit. Afterwards, remove the weights.
Number by Priority One way of prioritizing your items for the move is by assigning numbers from most important to least important. Mark a 1 on all of your boxes that contain items you need immediately or on a regular basis. You should mark a 2 on boxes that have items you won't be using right away, but possibly within a month or so such as books and movies. A 3 should be assigned to seasonal items, and 4 for the items meant for storage.

One of the two movers they sent acted as if he were high on drugs. They packed the moving truck so badly that everything caved in and all of my furniture was damaged in the move. The movers on the other end were afraid to unload the truck because they didn\'t want to get crushed by the furniture. When I called to complain, the owner was very rude and uninterested in my problem. Also, I saw the movers wheel one of my belongings out my door and it was not on the moving truck at the other end of the move. I guess the movers decided to keep it for themselves. I have pictures of the inside of the truck and all of the damage. 1.0000
